Gamelan Dharma Swara, New York's premier Balinese music and dance performance group, will soon present its fall concert! Donning traditional Balinese costume, twelve dancers, backed by a twenty-member bronze gamelan percussion orchestra, will celebrate the explosive and entrancing sounds of Bali, Indonesia, with an exploration of various musical art forms. This year's program will involve concert classics alongside rarely-performed repertoire, including "Legong Jobog," a long-form female dance depicting two dueling brothers. Also featured will be gender wayang, the dream-like music of the shadow puppet plays, and New York premiers of compositions for gong kebyar
