This was the first realization of the sample windowing technique described in Perhaps I'll See You Again (Someday). The major aspects are the same, but the individual windows were crude and did not include attack and decay envelopes. For this piece, that worked out alright as the volume was fairly constant so there was little discontinuity between the beginnings and endings of windows when played back to back. The result was loud, staggering, and induced a bit of a trans-like state where the audience would get used to hearing the sounds, but just as you get comfortable and start tuning out, the windows have moved and the piece moved on.
Looking Forward

Add envelopes to windows for smoother playback (completed)
